Invite to IFAR event: American Abstract Expressionism in a Global Context - a conversation
The International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR) will host a special lecture on Thursday, January 14, 2021, 6:00 – 7:15 pm, EST entitled: American Abstract Expressionism in a Global Context: A Conversation Between Pepe Karmel and Jack Flam
Two renowned specialists discuss the “rethinking” of abstraction outlined in Pepe Karmel’s new book, Abstract Art: A Global History. Special attention will be given to the ways in which the American Abstract Expressionists are related to this expansive new view of abstract art, in which women and non-American artists play a major role. The program will include Q&A and discussion.
